New York Fashion Week Recap: Top 5 from Spring / Summer 2021 Runway

Welcome to another month of fashion where we will be analyzing the runway trends from New York #NYFW, London #LFW, Milan #MFW and Paris #PFW. For the Spring/Summer 2021 shows, we are seeing a new take on fashion week with a move to digital and very few in person shows. Brands are forced to be creative on a different level and it's been interested to see how they have adapted. All in all for the other 99% of us who usually don't go to the actual shows it still feels a little normal to review all the looks on our computers.

To find common themes and trends you need to find the common threads between the designer's visions. We are here to help you do just that.

Here are our Top 5 from New York:

  • Satin Pants: It's no surprise since we have all be staying home people want to be comfortable and if you aren't ready to give up the sweatpants yet you can opt in for a versatile comfy pair of satin pants that can easily take you from your bed to the street.

Designers: Tom Ford | Collina Strada | Overcoat | Zero + Maria Cornejo | Lrs

  • Bold Brights: You can tell that we are all looking for a little optimism; Hyper pink, Mango Orange, Bright Yellow, Lime green to name a few.

Designers: Zero + Maria Cornejo | Sukeina | Chromat | Bibu Mohapatra | Tom Ford

  • Head-to-toe Prints: We have seen a slight decline in overall prints on the runway in previous seasons but they were very relevant this time around and the bolder the better.

Designers: Dirty Pineapple | Batsheva | Simon Miller | Rodarte | Tom Ford

  • Bra Tops: Not a new trend but good to note the innerwear as outerwear trend is here to stay. Love seeing the scoop knit bra continuing from A/W20.

Designers: Jason Wu | Veronica Beard | Private Policy | Tibi

  • Graphics: With more loungewear you naturally see more graphics but graphics are not just for loungewear this year. Voices want to be heard and you can find messages on an array of styles.

Designers: Christian Siriano | Lrs | Rodarte | Aknvas | Libertine
